A small update with small tweaks comes with SWTOR Patch 7.5c. Along with this, the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event has started this week! We’ll be going over some new changes to the event here as well!
Minor Bug Fixes
The entirety of the patch notes was summed up in four bullet points, mostly revolving around fixing audio and dialogue issues.
Various open-world NPCs will now speak dialogue properly when you walk by them, it never hurts to help cater to the immersion of the planets.
The Ziost Mission “Hidden Lockbox” was experiencing a bug that wouldn’t allow players to pick it up and start it. This can prevent achievement hunters from completing the Ziost achievements as you don’t have access to this mission forever as you’ll lose access to it once your character progresses to the destruction of Ziost. This has been patched and can now be interacted with again.
Sa’har’s dialogue in the mission “Sundering” will now trigger, and Adi Vonapa’s dialogue will now trigger in the mission “The Path Below”.
Overall it’s none too exciting, I was under the impression that this would be a fix about the issues with the SWTOR Launcher freezing.
On July 9th, 2024, players were reporting issues on the Forums of the SWTOR Launcher freezing and wouldn’t allow players to log in (I had this issue as well, Endonae too).
This was very unfortunate timing as this was also the same day that the 2024 Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event started. This issue was stated to be fixed by the developers the same day, so hopefully this issue remains resolved. If not, we at VULKK will keep you updated on the issues.
Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event 2024

It seems that the Hutts are further rigging their slot machines to yield lower rewards. In reality, it’s the developers changing the odds of winning prizes, what kind of prizes you earn, and ways you obtain the “Feeling Lucky” buff.
According to a comment on the forums made by SWTOR developer JoeStramaglia, some new changes are pending or already up involving the Nightlife Event.
He would state that while not planned for this year’s event, the developers are looking into converting the currency for the event into a Legacy-based currency rather than a character-based one.
Slot Machine Rewards and Odds Changes
There are fewer chip rewards for the slot machines and the odds are changing. Previously, Smuggler’s Luck slot machines would sometimes grant some coins and the “Feeling Lucky” buff.
You can now only obtain the “Feeling Lucky” buff by losing the slot machine. The tradeoff to this is that you now have increased odds of winning the slot machines so you can win more prizes with your coins.
Some changes were made to the Emperor’s Grace slot machine, the machine that grants the rarest and most coveted prizes of the event. It is now possible to lose on these machines, but if you use the Max Bet variant found in the fleet’s VIP section, it’ll be impossible to lose there.
Additionally, you’ll gain a 100% chance of winning on an Emperor’s Grace slot machine if you have both the “Feeling Lucky” and “Good Karma” buffs active.
Chip Changes and Future Plans
The amount of chips you can gain from slot machines is now variable instead of preset amounts. They are as follows:
- Smuggler’s Luck = 1 Smuggler’s Luck Chip or 1 Kingpin’s Bounty Chip.
- Smuggler’s Luck Max Bet = 5 – 15 Smuggler’s Luck Chips or 1 – 2 Kingpin’s Bounty Chips.
- Kingpin’s Bounty = 1 Kingpin’s Bounty Chip or 1 Emperor’s Grace Chip.
- Kingpin’s Bounty Max Bet = 5 – 10 Kingpin’s Bounty Chips or 1 – 2 Emperor’s Grace Chips.
- Emperor’s Grace and Emperor’s Grace Max Bet no longer will award Chips of any kind.
The changes to the Emperor’s Grace machine seem like a way to make it more of a chip sink as you’ll no longer get a chance of a refund. This can make it harder to get more mileage out of these rarer chips as you typically obtain them from event missions, endgame content, or purchasing them for 7,500,000 credits each.
Developer JoeStramaglia has stated that as the credit economy continues to stabilize, the cost of the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event chips will change over time.
Exactly how or to what degree was not stated and is another point of his that is left up in the air. He’s likely referring to the developer’s efforts to handle inflation by implementing taxes in trading and the changes of taxes in GTN fees.
At the moment, the chips for the event cost the following:
- Emperor’s Casino Chip – 7,500,000 credits
- Kingpin’s Casino Chip – 100,000 credits
- Smuggler’s Casino Chip – 5,000 credits
It would be nice to see the Emperor’s Casino Chips be more affordable, but they aren’t too much of an issue to get if you’re actively participating in event missions or endgame content such as Flashpoints and Operations.

Just wanted to let y’all know we’re reading the feedback. I wanted to go into a little bit into why the previously mentioned adjustments were made and add clarification to a couple of prominent points we’re seeing in the thread.
Legacy Currency instead of Character
This is something we talk about internally quite a bit. We want to make changes to the way these currencies work and making them legacy based instead of character based is one of the proposed changes. While this is not a change that is happening in this year’s event, I did want to acknowledge that there is a desire to make an adjustment here, but there are also some logistical challenges to this kind of change that require a heavy lift.
Less Chip Rewards and Odds
Previously, the way chip rewards worked was that most plays just gave you back the chip you spent or gave you many of a lower tiered one. In most cases, these were “slow losses”. This is not an ideal workflow. With the new adjustments, the revamped odds give you a higher chance at winning an actual prize or just removing the chip, meaning you should come out with more rewards for less time investment at a cost of less chips won.
We’ll be monitoring this change especially since it could reduce engagement with the machines. The intent behind the change was to increase reward output and decrease time spent. If we find over time that it does not remain engaging, then we’ll certainly adjust in the future.
Please keep in mind the Lucky and Karma buffs are more important than before for Emperor’s Grace pulls. If you’re planning on doing an Emperor’s Grace pull I would recommend getting at least one of the buffs but preferably both regardless of which Emperor’s Grace machine you intend to play to give you the best shot at a Jackpot.
Credit Economy
As the economy continues to stabilize, we intend to adjust the cost of the chips accordingly. So this is definitely something we will tune over time.
