I was disappointed that I could NOT order this exact same vacuum w/blower that came with the FREE auto-detail kit neither online, nor from my local The Home Depot. That knocks off one star. Nonetheless, the detachable blower was a necessity for me so I ordered it without the same enthusiasm since it was a "step-down" from the unit with the auto-detail kit. Once it arrived I unpacked and set it up so I could use it right away. I was very excited to see how much power this little vacuum had. The blower has sufficient power but it's not going to create any tornadoes in these parts of Southern California. Then I tried the actual vacuum for what its main purpose was designed for: to vacuum. PROBLEM: the hose That's the other knock on the stars. Like many others, the included hose was kinked because Ridgid is using a box slighter small than it should for the contents of this unit. The hose is constructed tough (not in a good way) plastic that is not stiff enough to prevent kinks but too stiff to maneuver around easily when using for dust extraction or even its basic duty of vacuuming in the shop or in your car. Luckily, I was smart enough to purchase the Pro Hose (4x stronger) which cost me $39.99 + tax but it's made of much better material that doesn't kink as easily and is much more flexible. It's also a much longer hose and it comes with a variety of attachments as well. All in all, it's a pretty good vacuum but the packing and hose issue need to be addressed by Ridgid. They could just include the hose from the auto-detail kit instead of the standard piece-of-junk one and that would resolve BOTH issue bringing this unit up to a 5-star rating.

Outstanding Vacuum, the blower is a great feature and I use it often. The powerful suction works well for my application. I use the vacuum for my Dust Deputy dust collection system. It sits on top of a homemade cart pictured below. Purchase with confidence, this is a robust little vacuum with great power. Cheers

Detailers Beware!

As the title says DETAILERS BEWARE: I have now been through several of these kits in the last 6 months.. The fitting on the end of the hose always seems to fall off and will not allow you to finish sweeping your customers vehicle. This kit is not for your pro/weekend warrior detailer, I would maybe suggest it for someone who likes to sweep their car out once in a while. Serious detailers do not waste your money! Awesome machine... Terrible hose.

This little machine is powerful and convenient. The suction is great, the on-board tools fit well and it has a convenient place to wrap the nicely long power cord. Also, I'm amazed at the ingenuity of the blower on this machine.The hose, however, is rigid to me and I'm having a very hard time working with it. I read the reviews and hoped it wasn't as bad as some people felt. Also, the ends of the hose (either where the tools attach and/or where the hose attaches to the unit) aren't rotating as much as they should. Therefore the hose twirls itself around and I have to unwind it often. And sometimes it twirls itself around twice! Plus, it doesn't get into hard to reach places well. It's like a piece of corrugated plastic tubing that just doesn't move well. I see they sell a better hose in a car care kit (that may or may not attach directly to the wet/dry vac... I haven't figured that out yet by the description), but that's another $40. I don't feel customers should have to spend another $40 to have an overall decent operating unit . I would like to see Ridgid package this vacuum with a different hose in the box. This would save a lot of frustration for customers and this unit would then be out of this world!I'm not sure whether or not I'll be keeping it yet because of the hose issue.So, I would recommend the wet/dry vacuum itself only if you want to put up with the hose.

Finally a Wet/Dry vacuum for any household need

I am blown away, pun intended, by the powerful blower vac side of this vacuum and am equally impressed by the suction power. I was able to unbox this vac and clean my car inside of 10 minutes. Not only did it come 98% assembled, but the quality control and attention given to packing the vac made it quite enjoyable to setup and use. Once assembled, I was able to instantly start detailing my car. I found that the vac easily navigated my driveway with the chunky, sturdy wheels. The hose didn't ever kink because of the genius swivel built into the hose and the motor never quit. I took about an hour to clean my filthy car and when I was done, the car looked showroom new. The hose length is generous. The tools that came with it are perfect for just about any job. The long double pipes make cleaning high or low a breeze. The cord has a bountiful length to it and neatly stores on the side of the vac. Everything about this Ridgid was designed for the end-user. Kudos to Ridgid for designing a marvelous vacuum.

Best Wet & Dry AND Leaf blower on the market: Bar None!

If the Ridgid BlowerVac had any more power, it would probably collapse the vac's container. When the Ridgid BlowerVac is used as a blower it is awesome. I checked self propelled, because if you put it on a smooth surface and turn it on without holding on to it, it will move by itself! I had it on top of my coach and when I plugged it in power below, it came flying of the top of the coach and I caught it just before it hit the ground! Really powerful!!I use the BLOWER to clean the leaves off the top of the coach's roof and slide room covers before bringing the rooms in.One of the things I use the VAC for is, to attach the hose to a port, that I fabricated in the side of the motor home to suck the dust out from behind the frig, as I blow the dust out of the coils with air from the underneath front side of the frig. If I didn't use the Ridgid Blower/Vac to suck the dust out; the dust would cover the inside of the coach, BIG TIME!Keeping coils clean and free of dust; helps the compressor overcome excessive heat build up from added head pressure, which helps a frig to last many more trouble free years!The Ridgid BlowerVac has too many uses around the coach, car trailer, car, and even or BMW motorcycle, to even list completely.You just have to remember: “If you don't want it to end up in the Ridgid BlowerVac's container, don't get the suction end of the hose or attachment close to it”!! Remember the ole saying: “GO FISH?”Note: I fabricated the clean out port by using a hole saws purchased at HD, to drill the countersunk portion of the hole. Then, another smaller size hole through the rest of the wall. I attached a Stainless Steel Boat Deck Plate/ Cover assy. to the recessed portion of the hole to make it flush with the outside skin of the coach, which facilitates access to the rear of the frig with the Ridgid BlowerVac. I've enclosed pics of the Ridgid BlowerVac and attachments that I fabricated, being used in the “Vac Dust Port” that were made using tools purchased at H.D..I cut 4 notches in the outer part of a Ridgid Exhaust Diffuser and then coupled it to a 90 degree sewer hose connector to make the attachment that goes into the Dust Vac port on the side of the coach, with some Black Pipe wrapping tape, also purchased at H.D..I always try to use what I have at hand to make or modify things so they can serve a couple purposes, so I can keep needed storage space to a minimum. Even though the coach and trailer together are 70 feet long, I have run out of storage space and weight. The coach and trailer weigh in at just over 60,000 lbs of a permissible re-rated Gross Weight of 62,000 + lbs.Great buy, you can't go wrong with this little jewel!!My wife says I can't go by a Home Depot, without stopping and buying something, as we travel the US. YES, The Home Depot is my favorite place to shop as we travel the US, and the whole US is our home, 24/7!Although my name isn't Mikey: the saying "Mikey Likes it" would apply here if it were!Remember” RIDGID ROCKS!”

Right size, great power.

This is just a great wet/dry van to own. Its not enormous like some of the bigger ones, but its not compact either. Its just the right size for around the house/garage. I am very impressed with the power of the vac. It picked up a lot more than I expected. Just considering its power and size I'd say its a great vac, but it has a lot of nice features that really make it a great value.The wheels on the bottom make it easy to move around when in use and its light enough to carry easily, even with all of the attachments on board. The cord is plenty long for most applications and it would be rare to need an extension cord. The hose is also a good length so that you don't have to keep moving the vac as you're working. The cord and all of the attachments have a snap-in feature that's very nice - it prevents them from being pulled out when you tug on them - but is easy to unlatch when taking them apart. There is a little compartment on the back that securely holds all of the attachments to keep it all nice and neat (see pic). Detaching the top to use as a blower could not be easier. Opening it up and emptying it and cleaning the filter is also very simple. If you need a shop/vac for around the house/garage, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value than this one.

Great 2 in 1 Tool!

This is a great addition to any garage. As a vacuum, it packs plenty of power and has a decent assortment of attachments. The wide attachment is especially useful on garage or basem*nt floors. I’ve had several woodworking projects lately, and it made quick work of cleaning up all the sawdust off the floor. The onboard caddy for storing attachments is nice and the quick release cord wrap is also convenient – both well thought out designs.The most brilliant piece of design work on this product though, is the removable blower. At first I was skeptical of how useful it would be, but I was thoroughly impressed by the output it had as a blower. I’ve had other vacuums that allow you to move the hose from one side to the other to use it as a blower, but this product allows you to completely remove the blower from the base and hold it like a traditional leaf blower (after snapping on the necessary attachment) – MUCH easier to use than dragging a vacuum base around. Because it’s corded, I don’t foresee this completely replacing a leaf blower for anyone with much of a yard, but for small yards or condos, this could definitely fulfill both needs. I've started using this instead of the big backpack blower for small things like clearing grass or leaves off the driveway simply because it's always close at hand in the garage & it can be up and running in just a few seconds.Overall, this is a great vacuum with the bonus functionality of a blower. It’s well thought out and has plenty of power – definitely recommend!

Powerful yet small

I purchased this to keep in the garage mostly to clean cars. So as a side note, I highly recommend the 1-1/4 in. Premium Car Cleaning Kit Accessory Shop Vac Attachments for RIDGID Wet Dry Vacuums, this pairs very well with this vacuum. Lost of suction, the blower works well, and it is easy to move.

Ridgid Carpet Extractor

I bought this Ridgid Shop Vac to try something different i wanted to see how well it would work strictly as a wet carpet extractor and boy did it exceed my expectations it works so well extracting the detergent from car seats and carpet it nearly leaves them dry. my son is 16 and details cars and was saving to buy a 1000 dollar blue machine and after trying this came to the conclusion this ridgid machine more then does the job he was shocked at the quality especially for the price and as a bonus he uses the leaf blower attachment to dry the car off as well. I do recommend buying the wet filter from ridgid and a green HEPA filter and you are set. Have a great day.

Unboxing the vacuum, it was pretty dusty. Otherwise, it works well for my intended usage. It feels like it will hold up well for a few years. Only had it for about a month so far.

Good value. Smaller than my other shop vacs but seems to be as good at cleaning up messes. If it lasts like my very old (>25 years)16gal.-5hp vacuums, it'll be a great one.

Powerful

After having both of my Shop Vac brand vacuums fail the exact same way (motor burn out) I decided to give this little beast a try due to my old vacs being too big to huff around the house if needed and I use dust separation in the garage so size didn’t matter. So far I’m very impressed with the power and how compact this is. My old vacs were 5HP too but that must have been a lie or the smaller hose on this just makes me feel like it is. The only complaint is the rando hose size.
